Intro

I am Jim Grey. No, not that one, the other one. I have been involved in the IT industry since the early days. I started out with the IBM 360 over 30 yeas ago.
Oh, you remember, the air-conditioned room with the false floors and ceiling, miles of wires, the big blue cabinets with all the dials, lights, and switches. They used punch cards (no floppy disk yet), 9 inch reel to reel tape, and the "hard disk" looked like a top loader washing machine with stacks of 15 inch platters.
I wrote Assembly, Cobal, Fortran, APL, RPG, and used IPL and JCL to operate it on a teletype (no monitors back then).

Now, of course, I use netboooks, laptops, the Internet, cell phones, Skype, and my Nikon DSLR to keep up with the constantly changing world of IT. With all these new tools at my disposal, I help individuals, companies, large and small, get their work done.
